Our Mission

Through projects and advocacy, Family Planning International promotes sexual and reproductive rights and choices,  enabling people to enjoy respectful sexual relationships and to create healthy families.

Positive sexual and reproductive rights, including health, lead to improved quality of life.

Our projects support partner organisations, primarily in the Pacific, to provide quality information and services to their communities.

Our advocacy aims to create supportive environments, build effective public policy and ensure adequate funding.

Our Values

Staff at Family Planning International work for the unit because we believe that all people are entitled to positive sexual and reproductive health and rights.

Family Planning International values holistic approaches to, and perspectives of, health and aims to reduce health inequalities.

We value regular reflection and assessment of our work because it is key to building our knowledge and understanding, which then improves our ability to create positive social change.

Family Planning International is committed to the achievements of international agreements, in particular the 1994 International Conference on Population and Development Programme of Action, the 1995 Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, and the Millennium Development Goals.
