FPAID's Advocacy Initiatives

Within New Zealand, FPAID works to raise public awareness of population and development issues.  We do this through:

  • Providing secretariat support to the NZ Parliamentarians’ Group on Population and Development (NZPPD).

  • Marking international events.

  • Working with our United Nations Face to Face Campaign Spokesperson Stacey Morrison.

  • Developing fact sheets and newsletters.

  • Working with the media. FPAID works with the media to increase awareness in New Zealand of world population and development issues.
Click here to view media releases.  Initiatives to increase media coverage have included taking journalists on a 10-day study tour of Fiji and Vanuatu, working with United Nations Face to Face Campaign spokesperson Stacey Daniels and inviting media to events.

  • Providing input into key policy and decision making.
