SPRINT
Family Planning International has been working on an AusAID funded and IPPF ESEAOR managed initiative called SPRINT - Sexual and Reproductive Health Programme in Crisis and Post-Crisis Situations in East, Southeast Asia and the Pacific. The purpose of SPRINT is to ensure that the sexual and reproductive health needs of populations surviving a crisis are met.
Family Planning International has been working with a wide range of people and organisations in New Zealand that work with disaster preparedness and response, to ensure they are aware of and understand the sexual and reproductive health needs of displaced populations.
The main objectives are to:
- Prevent sexual violence
- Reduce the transmission of HIV
- Prevent excess maternal and neonatal mortality and morbidity
